Atal Tinkering Labs organized Two-Day Workshop on Ideation and Tinkering

JAMMU: Atal Tinkering Labs-Jammu and Kashmir, Niti Aayog-Government of India in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology-Jammu (IIT-Jammu) organized Two-Day Workshop on Ideation and Tinkering.

The objective of the workshop was to acquaint students of Atal Tinkering Labs with the understanding of the technologies that will pave way for Industry 4.0. The workshop enabled students to understand the rise of new digital industrial technology, known as Industry 4.0, which is a transformation that future generation is going to witness in coming times.

The facilitators for the workshop were faculty from Indian Institute of Technology-Jammu (IIT-Jammu) that included Dr. Vijay Kumar Pal, Prateek Jha and Deepesh Patidar. 

Dr. Vijay Kumar Pal, faculty at IIT-Jammu, speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance of understanding the industry-4.0 technologies that further was deliberated to students in the form of modules that were inclusive of Aurdino Module, Raspberry Pi Module, 3D Printing and Robotics with Arduino & Raspberry Pi Module.

The experiential working of all the modules were virtually done so that students across different regions were able to embed the working and can practice same in their respective Atal Tinkering Labs.

Dr. Isha Sharma, Regional Mentor, Atal Tinkering Labs-Atal Innovation Mission, Jammu and Kashmir, coordinated the event and explicitly stated the vision of Atal Innovation Mission to the students of J&K, wherein the Atal Tinkering Labs will be acknowledged and used by students as innovative work stations, thereby enabling students to create micro solutions for regional problems through the interventions of Atal Tinkering Labs.

The mentorship of IIT-as a technology enabler and mentor for the students of J&K will be central in making J&K as an innovation and technology intensive region.

It is pertinent to mention that more than 1200 students registered for the workshop and was attended by the students, mentors, teachers of Atal Tinkering Labs of Jammu and Kashmir, and primarily were actively participated by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya-Sunjuwan, Kendriya Vidyalaya-Bantalab, Model Academy Jammu, Air Force School-Jammu, Kendriya Vidyalaya-Udhampur, Kendriya Vidyalaya-Kishtwar, Kendriya Vidyalaya-Miran Sahib and Kendriya Vidyalaya Srinagar.
