Rank ceremony for cadets of 2nd J&K (Boys) Battalion NCC Jammu held

JAMMU: Rank ceremony of NCC Cadets 2nd J&K (Boys) Battalion NCC Jammu was held on Wednesday at Government MAM PG College under the supervision of Maj. Dr. Karan Singh, Associate NCC Officer, 2 J&K Boys Bn. and under the guidance of Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the College.
Col. J.S Kataria, Commanding Officer of 2nd J&K (Boys) Battalion NCC Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Deepak Digra, SP South Jammu was special invitee on the occasion.
The Chief Guest, Col. J.S Kataria, in his address to the cadets described the role of NCC in nation building and appreciated the efforts of the College in providing the required platform to the youth.
He also urged the cadets to work with utmost dedication for the honour and welfare of the country.
Deepak Digra, SP South Jammu also spoke on the occasion. He emphasized the need of channelising the energy and motivation of youth towards harmonious and crime free society and noted that NCC plays a vital role in achieving these objectives.
Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the College highlighted the achievements of the NCC cadets especially during Covid-19 pandemic in spreading the awareness among the general public.
He also welcomed the new cadets and advised them to follow the footmarks of their Seniors and make every possible attempt to maintain discipline in their personal life as well as in the College campus.
A total of 20 cadets were allowed to participate in the event after obtaining negative report of Covid-19 test.
Other guests and faculty members present in the event were Inspector Gautam Singh, SHO Gandhi Nagar, Prof. P.S Thakur, Dr. Namita Singh and Prof. Anil Singh.
Senior cadet Rohit conducted the proceedings of event and formal vote of thanks was presented by Maj. Dr. Karan Singh, Associate NCC Officer,2 J&K Boys Bn.
The SUO Ranks were given to the cadets Lokesh Loch and Ranjan Kumar Verma while JUO Ranks were given to the Manpreet Singh, Sahil Mattoo, Ashish Choudhary and Parshant Sayal and SGT Ranks were given to Ajay Kumar Bali and Vishal Digra.
