GDC Ramgarh holds online extension lecture

RAMGARH: With an aim to provide psycho-social support and counselling to students and society at large for their mental health and well being, GDC Ramgarh organised an online extension lecture on the topic 'An Approach to Mental Health and Well Being during Covid-19 Pandemic' under the aegis of Higher Education Department.
This extension lecture is the maiden activity of Psychological Counselling Cell, GDC Ramgarh which was established recently under the guidance of Commissioner Secretary Talat Parvez Rohella, Higher Education Department.
Dr. Meeru Abrol , Principal of the college highlighted that during these difficult times, media is in a buzz with updates and news about COVID -19 which further adds to the stress not only in adults but children as well. So it is the need of the hour to organise programmes which teach how to overcome the mental stress and maintain physical, emotional and mental well being in such unprecedented times.
She further added that similar programmes will be initiated often in future to provide awareness, strength and support to society which will help us all to respond well to similar difficult situations and circumstances.
Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Kohli, Associate Professor, Psychology Government P. G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar was the resource person of the on line event on the official Youtube channel of GDC Ramgarh. She included tips for coping with Corona virus anxiety, loneliness, and maintaining mental health during social isolation in the time of COVID-19 in her talk with visuals.
Prof. Seema Sharma, Convener Psychological Career Cell coordinated the event.
Prof. Risha Kumari, Assistant Professor, Punjabi gave the vote of thanks.
