Interactive Session with Ravinder Kaul organized by JU

JAMMU: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu organized an ‘Interactive Session' with Ravinder Kaul, an eminent Art Critic on the topic ‘Significance of Art, Music, Literature and Theatre in Students' Life' under the ‘Webinar Lecture Series' which aims at featuring experts from different fields of art, culture and performing arts to interact with the students to enrich their skills and thought process during Covid-19 pandemic.
Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest in the session.
In his inaugural remarks, Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice-Chancellor complemented Prof. Jasbir Singh, DSW and his entire team for coming forward with numerous innovative and meaningful online programmes and competitions for students and scholars during this crucial time to stir their creativity and energy.
The Resource person of the session, Ravinder Koul, a multifaceted personality and art critic highlighted the significance of art, music, literature and theatre in the lives of human beings in general and students in particular.
He cited several relevant examples and anecdotes to justify his stance. According to him, art in any form is the only thing which alleviates and separates human beings from other species. He urged students to pursue art along with academics as art appreciation leads to refinement of their intellect.
The interactive session was followed by a series of questions by the participants which were appreciatively answered by Sh. Ravinder Kaul. The session was moderated by Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer and vote of thanks was presented by Mansi Mantoo, Media Officer.
The Webinar was attended by Prof. Jasbir Singh, DSW, Prof. Anupama Vohra, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. Samridhi Arora, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. B.K. Bajaj, Associate Dean (SW), Dr. Pritam Singh, AD (SW), members of Campus Cultural Committee, Dr, Kshmata Choudhary from VMOU, Kota, teachers, students, scholars, and art-enthusiasts.
