GDC Ganderbal organises International Webinar

GANDERBAL: Government Degree College Ganderbal organised an International webinar themed "e-learning amid COVID-19: Academic Challenges and Way forward" here.
The webinar was organized with the idea of enhancing the concept of e-learning and making effective use of ICT during the current prevailing conditions where classroom learning has become impossible.
The webinar was conducted through Google Meet platform, Principal GDC Ganderbal Prof. Bashir Ahmad Parry, and the Chief Coordinator of the webinar informed the audience about the backdrop of this programme.
The Principal stated that it was the first of its kind webinar to be organized by the college and the institutions world over are immensely using e-learning route for teaching learning process.
The guests of honour and speakers of the session were Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani, Head and Dean Department of Education, Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Arindam Bose, Associate Professor Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai and Prof. Renato Marcone, Assistant Professor Sao Paulo University Brazil.
Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani in his presentation on "Global Pandemic and e-learning" stressed on the need of training the youth in use of e-learning platform, he also highlighted the need to make students e-literate so that they can themselves carve out their way using technological skills.
Prof. Arindam Bose in his topic "Reimagining tech Space for qualitative Inquires: What new media can offer?" discussed in detail how technology can be used as a tool in qualitative research areas and how can it help us to be in touch with our students and the academicians world over in the current pandemic.
Prof. Renato Marconi in his presentation "Who can learn Mathematics? Possibilities for an inclusive (online) Mathematics Education" provided an insight into the need for utilizing Tech Space for a special category of blind students.
He also stressed upon the need for blended teaching methodology in days to come.
Faculty members and research scholars from various universities and colleges of different disciplines participated in the event.
