DDC Kathua inspects dev works during extensive tour of tehsil Lohai- Malhar

KATHUA: District Development Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat today conducted extensive tour of tehsil Lohai- Malhar and inspected development works taken up by RDD, PWD, PMGSY and other departments in the area.

Interacting with the Panchayat representatives, the DDC stressed upon them to take active part in planning and execution of development projects in their respective areas. He directed the departments to formulate the projects in consultation with elected members of panchayats.

He directed engineers of PMGSY, PWD(R&B) to expedite the road works to improve the connectivity scenario of this remote tehsil.

The DDC also directed XEN PHE to take up the water supply schemes of Lohai-Malhar on priority and make necessary DPR for new schemes in a time bound manner.

The DDC also directed the revenue department to speed up the disposal of Domicile Certificate applications of the area.

Earlier, the people of the area put forth their demands and they sought adequate staff in the schools, making Tehsil office functional in Malhar, issuance of new ration cards, posting of Naib Tehsildar, provision of guest house at Malhar and issues related to electricity, road connectivity and drinking water.

The DDC gave patient hearing to the demands and problems of the people, and directed concerned departments to redress the same in a time bound manner.

He also appealed people to avail benefits of tailor made schemes of Horticulture, Fisheries, Poultry and opt for composite farming to earn more income. He also called upon the farmers to avail KCC facility for which special melas and programmes are being held during " Kissan Pakhwada' starting from 7th July to 21st July 2020 across the district.

He also called upon PRIs representatives to aware people about maintaining social distancing and frequent hand washing.

Earlier, DDC inspected several PWD and PMGSY roads works, ongoing SBM and other works taken up by RDD enroute to Malhar area of the Lohai-Malhar tehsil.

ADC Billawar, XEN PMGSY, XEN PHE, XEN PWD, AD FSC&CA, BDC chairman and other block and tehsil level officers were present on the occasion.
