Excise Department destroys illicit poppy crops in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Excise department has destroyed poppy crop spread over a total of 151 kanals 15 malras of land in various areas of Kashmir division.

Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive Kashmir on Wednesday said that Excise enforcement teams headed by Excise & Taxation Officer South Kashmir, Excise & Taxation officer North Kashmir and Excise and Taxation Officer Central Kashmir destroyed illicit poppy crop in Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Baramulla and Budgam areas of Kashmir division.

The Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive Kashmir, said that the department has destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over 2114 kanals 12 malras so for and added that the drive shall continue till all illicit poppy crops is destroyed in Kashmir.
