KATRA: Siddhartha Shankar Rai, Research Student, School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic 'Responsive Supply Chain: A Case Study of Indian Garment Industry' before the Viva-Voce Examination Committee on 25th May, 2020 through video conferencing mode.
He did his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Giri, MDI, Murshidabad (Supervisor) and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra, SoB, SMVDU, Katra (Co-supervisor).
The examination committee constituted of Prof. Rajendran Chandrasekharan, Professor, Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras as the External Examiner; Prof. (Dr.) D. Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Management; and Dr. Saurabh, Head, School of Business, along with the supervisors.
Siddhartha Shankar Rai explained the importance of a responsive supply chain and the model for efficient supply chain in the garment industry. He has published high quality research papers in reputed categories of journals. His research can lead to improving the efficiency and competence of the garment industry in India.
Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVD University, Katra, J&K, congratulated the research student on the successful defence of the thesis and wished him all the best for his future endeavours.
