Sensex cracks 2,700 points lower at 27,197; Nifty below 8,000

MUMBAI: The Sensex was a sea of red as domestic markets opened for trading on Monday amid rise in coronavirus cases and a lockdown that has forced people to remain indoors. All stocks in the 30-share benchmark index traded in the red.

The Sensex nosedived 2,718.15 points to 27,197.81 in opening session while Nifty tanked 720.55 points to 8,024.90.
