JU organizes Two Days National Seminar Kshemendra Samsroha

JAMMU: Post Graduate Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, Jammu organized 4th Kshemendra Samsroha on 'Kashmiri Acharya Kshemendra Rachit Bharatmanjari ki upayogita evam samichinata'.

Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated the Department of Sanskrit for the successful initiation of the seminar and also said that such seminars should be organized from time to time.

The old traditions and cultural heritage included in ancients Sanskrit texts should be highlighted at all the relevant quarters and the civil society should be appraised about the past heritage, which is immense and requires dissemination at a larger scale.

In his keynote address Padmashri awardee Prof. Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra claimed that the Bharatmanjari written by Kashmiri Acharya Kshemendra is a wonderful and ultimate creation of Sanskrit based on great Indian text the Mahabharata. Further he also urged that the Bharatmanjari is more relevant and utilitarian in present era as well.

Prof Mishra was also felicitated with a memento and a Samman Patrika on obtaining "Padmashree Award" Prof. Ved Ghai and Prof. Hareram Tripathi were the special guests of the function.

Earlier, Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla (Head of the Department and convener of the seminar) presented the welcome address. The proceedings of the event was conducted by by Dr. Pratibha and the the vote of thanks was delivered by by Prof. Sushma Devi.

Among others Prof. Ramnika Jalali (Ex. HOD and Dean), Dr. Vidyadhar Singh, Dr. Satyapriya, Dr. Priyanka, faculty members, Students and Scholars were also present on the occasion.
