Feb 28, 2020
KATHUA: Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated National Science Day to Commemorate the contribution of great Indian Physicist Dr. CV Raman who discovered the Raman scattering effect of photons by matter.
The main objective of this celebration was to enhance the understanding among students about usage of science in day to day life. Young scientists of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua displayed plethora of hands on experiments namely oxygen is necessary for burning, spectrum of white light, gravity defying water, reversible and irreversible changes, propagation of light, concept of density, solubility and insolubility of various liquids etc and showcased their talent and versatility. Visitors and parents interacted with our students and teaching fraternity. They were highly touched by this endeavour put forth by the school to make the students comprehend the difficult concepts in a very easy and quick method.
This year, the theme of Science Day is 'Women in Science' to empower the role of women in the field of Science.
This day gives us an opportunity to thank all the scientists for their remarkable contribution and dedication in this field. It also accelerates the pace of development in science.
Mili R Sumbria, Principal Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua congratulated the mentors Shiwali, Vishali, Munisha respective class in charges along with Sourav (TGT Science ) and Nidhi ( TGT Science ) for having taken the event to a different level.
Further to it, she said it is at this tender age if children are exposed to concepts like these their curiosity to learn becomes deeper and who knows which child grows up to be another CV Raman or Dr Tessy Thomas, but to ignite these young minds with the spark of knowledge is a must for all of us as mentors.
