ADGP Armed felicitates JKP Water Sports Team for winning Gold Medal

JAMMU: AK Choudhary Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K felicitated J&K Police Water Sports Team for winning one Gold and one Bronze Medals in 19th All India Police Water Sports Championship.
While congratulating the team, ADGP AK Choudhary hailed the hard work and dedication of the concerned supervisory officers and coaches for refining the talent of JKP water sports players consistently and hoped that the team shall earn more honor for Jammu & Kashmir Police. He assured the team that all required facilities shall be made available to them by the department in order to make the team fully proficient in the Game.
Dushyant Sharma SSP SO Sports APHQ, Zahid Ahmad Lone DySP Sports APHQ, Sharat Chander Inspector Sports APHQ, JKP Water Sports Team Coach Showkat Ahmad SgCt 580/BPR and Assistant Coach Farooq SgCt 493/ IRP-6th Bn besides players of the team were present during the felicitation function held today at Armed Police Headquarters here.
J&K Police Central Water Sports team comprising 19 aquatic players including 2 coaches under the supervision of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din DySP IRP 6th Battalion was deputed to represent the Jammu and Kashmir Police in 19th All India Police Water Sports Championship hosted by MP State Police at Upper Lake, Bhopal from December 12 to 16.
Water sports teams of 18 State Police and para-military forces including SSB, ITBP, CRPF, BSF and Assam Rifles participated in the Championship.
JKP Water Sports Team participated in all the 9 events of the championship viz K1, K2, K4 of Kayaking and C1, C2 and C4 of Canoeing and qualified for finals in all the events.
In the final race, the canoe-2 pair of JKP Team viz Constable Adil Mohi-ud-Din and Constable Imran Hussain of IRP 6th Battalion won one Gold Medal in C2 two hundred meter race and one Bronze Medal in C2 one thousand meter race in the said Championship.
K4 and C4 Teams of JKP bagged 4th and 5th place in the final respectively.
