Kathua Campus organizes alumni meet

KATHUA: Department of Computer Science and IT, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu today organized Freshers, Farewell and Alumni Meet ‘ETAVADDHA-2K19' at its campus.
On the occasion, a one week cloth collection drive from 18th to 23rd of December, 2019 to collect clothes for the needy people was also inaugurated by Professor Meena Sharma, Rector Kathua Campus and chief coordinator Campuses, University of Jammu who was the chief guest of the programme.
In her address, Professor Meena Sharma appreciated the idea of cloth collection drive and the efforts of students and faculty of MCA Department for organizing the event. She congratulated the freshers for admission at Kathua Campus and blessed the outgoing students along with the alumni of the Department. She further exhorted that participation in these types of events is very important in shaping the future of the students to face the challenges of real life.
The students of MCA Department mesmerized one and all by presenting colourful cultural items as songs, mimicry, dance and poetry recitations. Alumni of the Department also shared their happiness of visiting the Campus again and expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the faculty members and campus for the opportunity.
Earlier, Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head of the MCA Department presented the welcome address and explained in detail about the initiative taken for cloth collection drive. He further stimulated students to take participation in co-curricular activities in addition to their academics. Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Pankaj Khajuria, Paramjit Kour, Riti Prakash Singh Katal, Sunny Sharma and Ajay Lakhnotra were also present on the occasion.
The students who worked diligently to make the event a grand success were Meena Kumari, Ashish Ohri, Rupali Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, Abhishek Manhas, Navdeep Mathur, Bhanu Priya, Onam Sharma, Arun Kumar, Arjun Singh, Jagandeep Singh, Bhawana Jasrotia, Rajni Kumari, Sapna Jasrotia and Manjeet Singh. The proceedings were conducted by Kanav Krishan, Akriti Mahajan, Varun Suri and Meetu Bala.
