Winter School Training Programme concludes at JU

JAMMU: Department of Remote Sensing and GIS conducted 21-day winter school training programme for capacity building in geospatial technologies and water resources funded by the NRDMS, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi concluded today at seminar hall of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu.
Prof. Manoj Dhar,Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest of the occasion Prof. Dhar made an interaction with the participants and distributed the certificate to the participants.
Speaking to the occasion, Prof. Dhar said that present day is the day of the bio, nano, information and geospatial technology and without the use of such technologies growth of science is not possible.
Prof. Dhar also congratulated the Prof jasrotia and his team for successful conduction of the programme.
Dr.Ashok K Singh, Principal Scientific Officer NRDMS DST, Govt. of India, was the Special guest of the occasion who also interacted with the participants.
The participants also present presentation in front of Dr. Ashok K Singh that what they have learnt from the 21-day training programme for capacity building in geospatial technologies and water resources.
Dr. Ashok K Singh speaking at the occasion has given the satisfactory remarks on the occasion and said that in future also University of Jammu will get such kind of opportunities for conducting the training programme.
Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Head Department of Remote Sensing & GIS and Coordinator said that day winter school training programme for capacity building in geospatial technologies and water resources in his welcome address said that in this 21day training programme resource person from various parts of North India were invited to deliver the lectures on the basis of the guidelines laid down by the Institute of Environment Education and Research, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune and funding agency NRDMS, DST Govt. of India.
Among others Head Department of Economics, Prof Prakash Anthal , Prof Ram Paul, Head Environmental Sciences , Dr Neeraj Shamra SS to VC, Dr Varun Parmar, Dr S. N Kundal, and Dr.Sarfaraz Asgher were also present on the occasion.
