The Law School JU Celebrated 'Constitution Day'

JAMMU: The Law School, University of Jammu celebrated the 'Constitution Day' on 26th November 2019, to commemorate the adoption of The Constitution of India.
Dr. Satinder Kumar, Director The law School set the tone of the event by reading aloud the Preamble of the Constitution and all the teachers, students, and other guests joined him and took pledge.
In his welcome address he lauded the initiatives by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in celebrating Constitution Day which is an innovative thought to make all the people of India aware of their rights and duties.
He called upon the students to get guided by spirit of the Constitution while aiming at holistic education. He emphasized that as a responsible citizen of India all of us owe duty to spread through awareness campaign importance of the constitution at our level so that we can also pay tribute to the people involved in framing our constitution.
He further added that it is our duty as well as responsibility towards our nation to observe this day just as we celebrate our other national festivals.
The programme was graced by Advocate Amit Gupta, additional advocate general Jammu and Kashmir high court as Chief Guest .Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Amit Gupta highlighted features of the constitution and appreciated the efforts of framers of the constitution who have glorified and incorporated the ideology of basic governance in form of this living document which will serve as inspirational document for generations ahead.
In his thought provoking address, he summarized the entire philosophy of the Constitution in two basic principles i.e. Right to Life and Right to Justice, as two main pillars of the Constitution. The function culminated with national anthem.
Programme was conducted by Akashdeep Sharma and Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rajnish Khajuria.
