JSS organises Inter-house Dance Competition

JAMMU: An Inter-house dance competition was held with the aim of honing the dance skills of the students was organized by Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu for the students of classes V-VIII in the school campus today.

The theme of the competition was festivals. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun filled extravaganza offered folk dance form depicting different festivals viz, Diwali, Eid, Janamashtmi and Baisakhi. The spectators bore witness to the enthusiasm and energy of the young Sanskritians as they enthralled everyone with their performances. The adjudicators Ajay Kumar and Arun highly complimented the efforts put in all the four houses.

In the closely contested competition; Harmony house claimed 1st position, Wisdom house bagged 2nd position, 3rd position was bagged by Passion house and Optimism house got the consolation prize.

In the folk group dance, all the four houses presented the Lavani,Ghoomar, Bhangra and Dandiya. The activity hall resonated with spirited rhythm and song, setting an electrifying ambience of a country where folk fervor is fittest. Ghoomar Ghoomar, Chand nazar aaya, Radhe radhe and Bhangra nu Char Chan through the hall could be seen with several tapping feet. The contestants enthralled the audience with their well choreographed performances.

Sonakshi Anand (Trustee) and Rohini Aima , Principal cum Vice-Chairperson of the school, felicitated the judges and extended her gratitude for sparing their valuable time for school and the students. She extended her thanks towards accomplished dance teachers, Monika Wazir and Ricky Malhotra for their choreography and performances of the dancers.
