JK Public School Kunjwani organises orientation programme on road safety

JAMMU: Road safety education plays a vital role in shaping the attitude and behaviour of the people.
In an effort to create awareness among the students and community at large, JK Public School Kunjwani in collaboration with RTO Jammu on Tuesday organised an Awareness Programme on road safety.
Students of Class XI from JK Public School and the students of BBA and B.Ed from J K College Kunjwani participated in the programme.
Dhantar Singh (RTO), Shafkat Majid Bhat (ARTO), Rajeev Kundal (Inspector) and Gurmeet Singh Bali (Inspector) were the invitees for the programme.
Shashi Chaudhary, Director J K Educational Society and Shashi Rattan, Vice Principal JK Public School also witnessed the programme.
Gurmeet Singh Bali apprised the students about the slogan Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha through posters and displays. He educated the students on how to apply Motor Vehicle Licence online.
Briefing the students on new Motor Vehicle Act 2019, Singh told about the penalties laid down for violating traffic rules and the five E's of Road Safety i.e. Education, Enforcement, Engineering, Environment and Emergency Services so as to minimise the loss of lives due to road accidents.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector Rajeev Kundal said that non-adherence to the traffic safety rules are the major cause of road accidents. The second session on Jeevan Suraksha was taken by RTO Dhantar Singh wherein he educated the students about the procedure to be followed on the road. At the end of the session Dhantar Singh answered the queries of the students.
The programme was quite enriching and eye opening. Students benefitted a lot from this awareness programme. Session culminated with vote of thanks by the Director, Shashi Chaudhary.
