JKPS Kunjwani organises Sahodaya Inter-school Basketball Girls U-17 Tournament

JAMMU: Hosts JK Public School, Kunjwani won the inaugural match of Sahodaya Inter-School Basketball (Girls U-17) Tournament being organised by the JKPS Kunjwani in its Shamia Basketball Court on Friday.
The tournament in which eight basketball teams from top notch CBSE schools are participating was declared open by the Chief Guest, Vinay Sharma, SP Jammu South in presence of Nirmal Mahna, President Sahodaya and Principal DPS Rajbagh, Kathua K.C.S Mehta, Mentor Sahodaya and Principal APS Akhnoor, Raj Daluja, Chairman JK Educational Society, Shashi Chaudhary, Director JK Educational Society, Shashi Rattan, Officiating Principal JKPS Kunjwani and Deepti Joshi, School Coordinator.
Earlier, Shashi Rattan presented the welcome address.
In the opening match, JK Public School Kunjwani defeated RM Public School Chowadi 38 (40-2) points in one sided game.
In other matches, Jodhamal Public School beat APS Akhnoor; JK Public School Kunjwani defeated GD Goenka School; Heritage School Sainik Colony outplayed Jodhamal Public School.
The final match and matches for positions third and fourth will be played tomorrow wherein the JK Educational Society will also hand over the Shamia Memorial Trophy to the winner team, to honour late Shamia Chaudhary, who was an outstanding basketball player of JK Public School Kunjwani.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Sharma appreciated the efforts put in by the Chairman in the field of games and sports.
He also shared that in any school, its playground, its library and morning assemblies are the three parameters that make a school great. He shared his own experience of school days that how his principal used to inculcate moral values in them.
He congratulated the winning teams and applauded the efforts of the coaches for giving training to their teams.
Raj Daluja, Chairman felicitated the Chief Guest with a memento as a token of love and respect.
Sahodaya Schools Complex is an idea by the CBSE New Delhi, is the largest governing body of academics with nearly 16047 schools affiliated to it within the country as well as abroad functioning under the aegis of Ministry of HRD, Govt of India.
