Kathua Campus, JU organises combined Induction Program for students

JAMMU: To acquaint the newly inducted students with the academic culture and curriculum of the University and to bridge down the gap between the senior and junior students, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu today organised a combined Induction Programme for the students of MBA, MCA and UIET of the Campus.
Professor Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the Chief Guest on the occasion appreciated the efforts of Rector and the mentors/members of teaching and non-teaching staff for successfully imparting guidance/training to the students of the Campus.
He stressed upon the overall development and grooming of the students and maintained that the education, now a day is not limited to books or class rooms but students need to learn about life practically outside the classroom too. Talking of the trends in the market, Professor Dhar exhorted that the students must use their skills and knowledge for start up plans also.
He assured the students to extend best support for the education/development and they shall be provided an opportunity to interact with the faculty and students of the Main Campus so that they get benefitted by the exposure and expertise, he added.
Later, Professor Dhar, launched official website of the Campus and applauded the hard work of the students, namely Shubam, Janak and Anmol of MCA in developing the website.
Professor Alka Sharma, Director, the Business School explained that professionalism and discipline is required for success in academics and carrier building. She talked about the importance of Induction Program and shared the importance of moral values. She also laid importance on maintaining the balance between personal and professional life.
Further, in his speech, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Physical Education, JU, said that he is working on developing state- of -the art sports complex for Kathua Campus which would also cater to the needs of adjoining areas.
Earlier Professor Meena Sharma, Rector, Kathua Campus in her welcome address expressing her gratitude towards the Vice Chancellor and terming the Vice Chancellor as eminent Scientist, Administrator, Academician and Scholar explained that the University shall attain new achievements under his dynamic leadership.
She also welcomed the guests, members of the faculty and students and apprised the Vice Chancellor about the achievements and requirements of the Campus.
A brief presentation by given by Pankaj Khajuria, faculty member of MBA, on various developments, achievements, present status and future plans of the Campus.
Dr Jyoti Sharma coordinated the program and Sourabh Shastri presented the formal vote of thanks. All others members of the Campus including Dr Vivek Sharma, Riti Prakash Singh were also present during the event.
