KATHUA: To celebrate 75 years of adoption of the Constitution of India, the faculty and students of Government Degree College Ramkote today participated in the recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution of India.
The event was organised by the NSS Unit of the College under the tagline of ‘Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman' and under the overall guidance of the College Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about the importance of the Constitution and its Preamble as well as to promote the spirit of patriotism and nationalism. The activity also fostered awareness about the values, rights and duties enshrined in our constitution.
Students and faculty of GDC Ramkote recited the Preamble to the Constitution in unison. After the Preamble reading, a short documentary on ‘Life of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel' was screened as a part of two - year campaign commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The students learnt about the pivotal role played by the Iron Man of India in uniting the various princely states into newly independent Indian Nation. Prof. Suresh Chander addressed the students about the significance of the Preamble of the Constitution and motivated the students to learn more about the book that governs the life of every citizen of India. Nearly 20 NSS volunteers of BA Semester 3rd and 5th participated in the event.
Faculty present included Prof Pankaj Nandan, IQAC Convener, Prof. Suresh Chander, HoD Dogri, Prof. Anu Sharma, Prof. Vasundra Raje, Mr. Krishan Singh and Mr. Ankush Kundral. The event was organised by Prof. Anu Sharma, NSS PO who delivered a formal vote of thanks for the contribution made by everyone to ensure the patriotic zeal in revering the constitution and honouring the figure of national importance. |
