POONCH: A meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 was convened today by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal in his office chamber.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), District Social Welfare Officer, Lead District Manager, Chief Executive Officers of Municipal Councils Poonch and Surankote and the Senior Manager of the Housing Unit, J&K Housing Board.

During the session, the Committee reviewed and approved 15 new cases under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of PMAY (Urban) 2.0. The BLC vertical envisages provision of financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries for the construction or enhancement of their houses in urban areas.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of effective implementation of the housing scheme to ensure that the dream for a pucca house of all eligible urban poors is realized. He directed the concerned departments to maintain transparency and expedite the processing of pending cases.
