JAMMU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, inaugurated a newly constructed prefabricated barrack at Police Station Bishnah in Jammu district, aimed at improving the living conditions of police personnel.

A statement said the modern barrack has been built to provide better accommodation and rest facilities for the personnel deployed at the station.

Equipped with essential amenities like proper bedding, ventilation, washrooms, and power backup, the facility offers a comfortable and hygienic environment for the police personnel who serve in challenging conditions.

During the visit, the IGP was briefed about the structure and facilities of the barrack.

He appreciated the district police for completing the project in a time-bound manner and said such initiatives play an important role in improving the morale and operational readiness of police personnel.

He also urged other police stations to follow similar examples for enhancing infrastructure and welfare facilities.

The IGP, accompanied by DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, SSP Jammu, SP Headquarters Jammu, SDPO RS Pura and DySP DAR Jammu, also inspected the police station and interacted with the staff.

He held a motivational counselling session for newly recruited Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs), encouraging them to pursue specialisation in various fields and contribute positively to the police department.

Meanwhile, the IGP Jammu also participated in a plantation drive organised at the GO's Mess Jammu under the Van Mahotsav celebrations.

The event was held in collaboration with the J&K Forest Department.

Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of increasing forest cover to tackle climate change and protect the environment.

He urged all officers to actively participate in such green initiatives and take care of the saplings as a pledge towards safeguarding the environment for future generations.
