RAJOURI: Acting on the directions of the Transport Commissioner, J&K, Visheshpaul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, the ARTO Office Rajouri led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Rajesh Gupta carried out an extensive road checking drive in Rajouri town and surrounding areas today.
The drive was primarily focused on ensuring traffic regulations compliance among e-Auto vehicles operating in the region.
During the enforcement drive, a total of 105 vehicles were thoroughly inspected. As a result of the inspection, 15 e-challans were issued for various violations under the Motor Vehicles Act and other relevant traffic norms. Furthermore, 5 e-Auto vehicles were impounded and brought to the ARTO office due to serious violations.
The enforcement action is expected to generate revenue of approximately ₹49,000 from the challaned vehicles. The ARTO has reiterated its commitment to improving road safety, ensuring compliance with vehicle documentation and promoting disciplined driving practices.
The department has urged all vehicle owners and drivers to adhere strictly to traffic laws to avoid penalties and ensure the safety of all road users. Regular enforcement drives shall continue in the coming days. |
