BANDIPORA: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bandipora, in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Bandipora and in collaboration with the District Judiciary, Bandipora and District Bar Association Bandipora observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today at ADR Centre District Court Complex Bandipora.
The theme for this year is "Break the cycle. #StopOrganizedCrime," emphasizing the significance of focused long-term action to break the cycle of organized crime and drug trafficking.
The programme was held under the supervision of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora and able guidance of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA Bandipora and Amandeep Singh, Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Bandipora.
The event was also attended by Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora; Amandeep Singh, Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Bandipora; Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Chief LADC Bandipora; Sofi Feroz, President Bar Association Bandipora alongwith Bar members, officials of District Court Bandipora, officials of DLSA Bandipora, Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) Bandipora, Panel Lawyers and Adhikar Mitras (PLVs) of DLSA Bandipora and TLSC Bandipora.
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is a global call to action against the rising menace of drug abuse and illegal trafficking. The United Nations General Assembly designated this day to raise awareness and promote global action against drug abuse and trafficking.
Abid Hussain Malla, Assistant LADC of DLSA Bandipora highlighted the importance of awareness and collective action to combat this menace. He emphasized the role of schemes like NALSA DAWN - Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug-Free India, which aims to educate people about the ill effects of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Moreover, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Pr. District and Sessions Judge Bandipora headed the rally, which was organized by DLSA Bandipora in collaboration with District Bar Association Bandipora.
The participants taking part in the rally raised placards highlighting messages like "#SayNotoDrugsYesToLife, #DrugsFreeIndia, #YuddhNasheKeVirudh, #NashaMuktBharat, #NopeToDope".
Moreover, CJM Bandipora, JMIC Bandipora, President Bar Association Bandipora, LADCs and staff members of DLSA Bandipora and staff members of District Court Bandipora also participated in the rally. |
