BANDIPORA: Continuing its commitment to deepening outreach in tribal communities, district administration Bandipora on Saturday organized awareness and benefit saturation camps under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) at Higher Secondary School Kilshay and High School Barnaye in the remote Gurez valley.
The events witnessed active participation from local residents, tribal elders, women, and students, reflecting growing awareness and interest in government welfare schemes.
The camps were aimed at sensitizing the tribal population about key schemes and ensuring that the benefits of government services reach every eligible household at the grassroots level.
During the event, different departments including Health, Social Welfare, Rural Development, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal and Sheep Husbandry participated in the camps. These departments facilitated on-spot services such as registration under social security and pension schemes, distribution of awareness material, and enrolment under flagship programmes like PMAY-G, PM-KISAN, Ujjwala Yojana, and various scholarship schemes.
These awareness camps are part of the ongoing 15-day district-wide DAJGUA campaign which was launched earlier at GHSS Aragam. The campaign is targeting 31 identified tribal villages in Bandipora district with the goal of achieving 100% saturation of welfare schemes and bridging the gap in service delivery in far-flung areas. |
