RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today conducted a surprise inspection of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJ-GUA) awareness camp at Kotedhara to assess the outreach and implementation of government welfare schemes and public service delivery mechanisms in tribal-dominated areas.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with officials and members of the tribal communities to review the progress of awareness generation under the DAJ-GUA initiative, which aims to ensure saturation of welfare schemes and strengthen participatory governance in tribal villages.
Subsequently, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Fair Price Shop at Kotedhara. During the inspection, few discrepancies were noticed, including complaints of poor quality and adulteration of food grains, as well as improper maintenance and calibration of weighing scales.
Taking serious note of the lapses, the Deputy Commissioner sought an explanation from the concerned Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) and directed him to submit an action taken report within two days. He also instructed the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with quality norms and transparency in the Public Distribution System.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that delivering clean and properly weighed rations to beneficiaries is non-negotiable, and any dereliction of duty in this regard would attract strict disciplinary action. |
