SAMBA: As part of World Environment Day 2025 celebration, the Department of Environmental Science and Eco Club "Amrita" of Government Degree College, Ramgarh, jointly organized an Awareness Programme focused on this year's global theme: "Ending Plastic Pollution."
The event highlighted the severe consequences of plastic waste on the environment and human health, and encouraged sustainable practices among students and staff to combat this growing menace.
The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College and was led by Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Convener of Eco Club "Amrita'.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both faculty and students. Faculty members present on the occasion included Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brham Dutt, Dr. Neeraj Bargotra, Priya Sharma, and Anjali Devi, who appreciated the relevance of the theme and engaged in interactive discussions with students about reducing plastic dependency in daily life.
