UDHAMPUR: Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West Pawan Kumar Gupta and Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai jointly chaired a meeting today to discuss a plan for road connectivity to the Sawalakote Power Project from the Pancheri side.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh among other Officers from the Civil Administration and NHPC attended the meeting held in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.

The meeting focused on the demands, including the construction of an access road from the Pancheri side to enhance connectivity to the project site. Discussions also covered the scope of work, timelines and proposals for utilizing NHPC's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to maximize community benefits.

The MLA stressed the importance of prioritizing the local population in the developmental benefits arising from the project. He advocated for ensuring that infrastructure development aligns with the needs of the community and provides employment opportunities for local youth.

The District Administration assured full support in streamlining project execution, including addressing any clearance-related challenges.
