RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today conducted a surprise inspection of the offices of the Executive Engineer, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and the Executive Engineer PHE Mechanical Division here to assess the functioning and ongoing progress of JJM-related works in the district.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner issued string of directions to the Executive Engineer JJM and Executive Engineer PHE Mechanical to ensure regularity and punctuality of staff in their respective offices. He emphasized that indiscipline and laxity in attendance will not be tolerated, especially in departments involved in the execution of crucial public utility schemes.

While reviewing the status of ongoing JJM works, the DC instructed the concerned officers to expedite the installation of machinery and equipment at the sites of ongoing projects. He underscored the importance of ensuring that all infrastructural and mechanical components are installed in tandem with civil works to avoid delays in project completion.

The DC reiterated the administration's commitment to providing safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household in line with the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission and directed officers to work in a mission mode to achieve the set targets within the stipulated timelines.
