JAMMU: A series of drug awareness programmes were today organised across various Government Higher Secondary Schools in District Jammu as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The aim of these programmes was to educate students and the society about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

At Government Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat, the event was held in the presence of Member Legislative Assembly, Choudhary Vikram Randhawa, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

In his address, the MLA stressed the importance of raising awareness among youth to curb the menace of drug addiction. Similar awareness events were held at GHSS Bishnah, GHSS Kathar, GHSS Salehar, PM Shri GHSS Sohal and other institutions, witnessing active participation of students, teachers, SMDC members, parents and local stakeholders. Activities such as Nukkad Nataks, poem recitations in Dogri, motivational talks and awareness lectures were organised to engage participants and spread the message effectively.

The programmes concluded with an anti-drug pledge, wherein all attendees resolved to work towards a drug-free society.
