RAMBAN: A comprehensive three-day drive for assessment of losses caused by flash floods, hailstorm, and cloudburst on April 19-20, 2025, concluded today across Ramban district. The drive was launched on April 29 on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, who also heads the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
Assessment Supervisory Officers, in coordination with line departments, conducted the drive across all 49 Patwar Halqas to evaluate damages to agriculture, horticulture, livestock, private and commercial properties, public infrastructure, and essential utilities.
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, teams were deployed to conduct on-ground assessments, organize camps, and interact with affected residents. Senior officers, including Tehsildars and BDOs, actively monitored the operations in their respective areas to ensure transparency and efficiency in data collection.
To ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting, designated officers stayed overnight in their allotted Halqas. The assessment was conducted in close coordination with local communities and concerned departments to gather reliable data for relief and restoration planning.
Detailed reports are now being compiled and will be submitted to the District Administration for further action, including the formulation of appropriate relief measures and restoration plans for the affected areas. |
