POONCH: The District Centre of the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) commenced a 6-day (30-hour) Management Development Programme (MDP) for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) today at JKEDI Poonch. This initiative is part of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The program was officially inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tahir Mustafa Malik, marking a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of local entrepreneurs.
Supported by the World Bank, the RAMP scheme aims to strengthen the performance of MSMEs across the Union Territory. It focuses on improving market access, promoting technology adoption, enhancing financial inclusion, and building capacity while fostering collaboration between central and UT-level institutions.
The training program has attracted participation from 20 local entrepreneurs, providing them with practical insights into business management, operational efficiency, and institutional support mechanisms. The participants will engage in interactive sessions with domain experts and officials from relevant departments, gaining valuable knowledge and skills.
Present at the inauguration were District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Sh. Shabir Hussain Shah, Project Manager Iftikhar Bashir, and other officials from various line departments.
The MDP under the RAMP scheme represents a strategic initiative towards developing a self-reliant MSME ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. This aligns with JKEDI's ongoing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic development in the region. |
