POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today assessed the implementation of self-employment schemes including the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), Tejaswini, Mumkin and other initiatives in the district here at a meeting of stakeholder departments.

The Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed review of sanctioned cases and disbursements under these schemes for the financial year 2024-25. Officers from relevant departments provided updates on the status of beneficiary coverage in the district.

The DC emphasized the need for spreading mass awareness to maximize coverage of unemployed youth and to provide proper guidance to potential beneficiaries. He instructed officers to collaborate effectively to enroll the maximum number of youth under these self-employment initiatives.

The meeting also addressed issues related to disbursement to avoid pending cases, ensuring the swift implementation of employment-related programs.
