DLSA Pulwama organizes awareness programme on ‘National Girl Child Day'

PULWAMA: In compliance to the directions of Legal Services Authority UT of J&K, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama organized an Awareness programme on ‘National Girl Child Day' in collaboration with District Social Welfare office Pulwama at Circuit House Pulwama.

The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, (Special Judge NDPS) Incharge, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq Secretary DLSA Pulwama.

On the occasion, the main resource person M Sameer Yatoo Advocate from DLSA Pulwama raised awareness about the schemes pertaining to girl child, and legal rights and protection from discrimination, child marriage and violence.

Furthermore, Waheeda Anjum, Advocate also spoke on the occasion about the importance of education to girl child and laid emphasis on the challenges faced by girls in Indian society. The day is dedicated to raising awareness about the inequalities girls encounter and advocating for equal opportunities in education, healthcare, and nutrition.

A similar programme was also organized at Sub District Hospital Tral in collaboration with TLSC Tral.

The aforesaid awareness programmes were also attended by PLVs of District Pulwama and staff members Social Welfare Officer Pulwama.
