SWD celebrates 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: An impressive event was organized today by the District Social Welfare Department to mark the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Girl Students and NCC Cadets of local Schools and Colleges, Staff of Parisha-Home for Girls, Staff of DSWO office besides others.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Mamta Sudershan and BDO Trigam Chandan Manhas were the Special Guests on the occasion.

The Special Guests highlighted the significant improvements in women's education, women's empowerment, and child sex ratios achieved over the past ten years. They also emphasized that the district administration is committed to furthering these initiatives through a series of week-long activities aimed at promoting the goals of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

District Social Welfare Officer Zubair Ahmed spoke about the programme, outlining plans for community engagement activities throughout the week to raise awareness about the critical importance of educating and uplifting girls.

He called on all citizens to participate actively in these efforts, reinforcing the message of the programme that aims to protect and empower the girl child.

The event also featured Beti Bachao Beti Padhao pledge administered to the students of Various schools,colleges and NCC cadets.

Also a Special Cake Cutting Ceremony along with cultural performances was held at the "Parisha-Home for Girls" to commemorate the 10 Year celebration of BBBP initiative.

The overwhelming participation marked the success of initiative in the district.

The whole activities were coordinated under the close supervision of TSWO Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Sharma.
