JAMMU: Three Formula One teams from Jodhamal Public School in Jammu-Team Apex, Team Marlin, and Team Spartan-recently competed in the Formula One (F1) in Schools' National Championship, which took place at Genesis Global School in Noida (U.P.).

The teams showcased exceptional talent and skill, leaving a significant mark on the competition.

Team Apex won the Knockout Championship, the Fastest Car Award, and set the most coveted 'Overall Championship' record. Their victory has earned them a desired spot in the Aramco F1 in Schools - 2024 World Finals, set to take place in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia this November.

Jodhamal's Team Apex, consisting of Daanial Butt, Aarit Malhotra, Ekaj Mangotra, Kunwar Ranbir Singh, and Varchas Vishal. All these teams were mentored by Neetu Johri.

Earlier also in 2022, another team from Jodhamal school, Team Helios had won the F1 in Schools World Knockout Championship at Silverstone, United Kingdom.

Team Marlin, featuring Akshar Bhasin, Aamay Gupta, Siddhi Vinayak, Avyukt Mahajan, Parmeet Singh Abhiraj Suryavanshi, Adhvik Mahajan and Team Spartan's Vanshaj Sharma, Mehrab Singh, Rajveer Bhalla, Madhvendra Naad and Adeen Rizvan demonstrated remarkable skill and determination.

The F1 in Schools competition, inspired by the real-world Formula 1 motorsport, challenges students to design and manufacture miniature working F1 car models. This prestigious event draws school teams from all over the country, each competing to demonstrate their engineering and project management abilities. Their perseverance was rewarded with the Resource and Development Award, which led to a high ranking in the National Finals.

Jodhamal Public School, in collaboration with Time of Sports, has remained the only 'STEM' approved school in Jammu and Kashmir for the past four years. They continue to champion the expansion of STEM education in the region, developing future innovators and leaders.

Trustee of the school Nandan Kuthiala, Principal Girish Kumar congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the teams. He wished them luck for the World Finals and also added that it's a life skill which is beyond books and curriculum learning by doing at a very advanced and scientific level.
