CUJ celebrates 78th Independence Day

JAMMU: Central University of Jammu celebrated 78th Independence Day in the DDE building.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain hoisted the national flag followed up by singing the national anthem and with this Independence Day events started. A spectacular display of discipline and unity unfolded with the NCC Parade, capturing the essence of patriotism

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain in his speech, delivered with a sense of pride and optimism, focused on the university's contributions to national progress and inspired students to engage actively in shaping India's future.

Further, the VC underlined the synergied efforts of university fraternity in growth and development of university, be it implementation of NEP-2020, He motivated the audience to continue their dedicated efforts for the nation's progress.

Prof. Jain emphasized the university's commitment to fostering academic excellence and contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He urged students to channel their energy into innovative ideas that will help realize this vision and highlighted the importance of skill development in making youth self-reliant. "We must focus on becoming job creators rather than job seekers," he stated, underscoring the importance of entrepreneurial spirit.

The Vice Chancellor lauded the achievements of CUJ's research scholars, noting that the university's H index has increased to 11, reflecting a significant improvement in research quality.

He also announced that CUJ has filed 17 patents, showcasing its commitment to innovation.

Prof. Jain shared that the university recently established a Section 8 company to further support entrepreneurial ventures and motivated students to start their own startups.

Prof. Jain commended the Education Department for its success, highlighting that 35 students qualified for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) this year. He also praised the NCC and NSS wings for their outstanding performances and the Placement Cell for securing 250 placements with the highest package reaching 10.5 lakhs.

In his address, Prof. Jain introduced the new Aerosol Research Instrumentation Centre in Patnitop, which will facilitate high-altitude measurements, marking a significant advancement in research capabilities. He also addressed ongoing infrastructure challenges, announcing the resolution of the university's electricity issues with the establishment of a new 33 kV dedicated grid station.

Prof. Jain's address resonated with the spirit of independence and progress, motivating students and staff to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to the nation's development.

Following that, a grand celebration was organised in the university's Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium with patriotic songs and other items by the students of NCC wing, Central University of Jammu.
