BANDIPORA: The Senior Citizens Home (SCH) Bandipora is deeply saddened to announce the passing away of one of its cherished residents, (anonymous), who peacefully departed on the morning of December 7, 2023. The inmate had been a resident of SCH since his admission on November 20, 2023, bearing Registration Number JKSWM/SCH/BPR/039.

Established in November 2022 under the esteemed Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojna (AVYAY) scheme by the Department of Social Welfare Bandipora, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, the SCH stands as a compassionate haven committed to providing dignified care and unwavering support for senior citizens.

The home's comprehensive offerings include shelter, nourishment, clothing, funeral services and a range of amenities designed to enrich the daily lives of its elderly residents. A thoughtfully curated library, recreational facilities, stress management resources, and professional counseling services foster a vibrant atmosphere that encourages personal growth and enjoyment.

The holistic approach of SCH extends beyond the physical, addressing emotional and psychological well-being through robust social support networks, legal assistance, and medical care provided by a dedicated medical staff comprising a trained doctor and an experienced nurse.

The SCH ensures that all services and life support provisions are accessible to deprived elderly citizens completely free of cost, embodying the belief that every senior citizen deserves a life of comfort and care.

In accordance with the norms of the home, the SCH Bandipora arranged for the final rites of the deceased with the utmost respect and dignity. The inmate was laid to rest at Quil Muqam on the consent of the introducer/referee.
