Armed Forces Flag Day commemorated with reverence in Doda

DODA: The Armed Forces Flag Day was marked with reverence and honour in Doda, as Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Wing Commander Tirath Singh (Retd), joined Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and SSP Abdul Qayoom at the DC office complex to celebrate the occasion.

Remembering the valour and sacrifices of the personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the day aimed to pay tribute to their services.

The significance of the Armed Forces Flag Day was elucidated during the commemoration, emphasizing its primary objectives of the rehabilitation of families affected by battle casualties, welfare support for serving personnel and their families, and resettlement and welfare initiatives for ex-servicemen and their families.

In addition to the official celebration at the DC office complex, Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Doda, Paramount Public School Doda, and other Schools and Colleges across the district also observed the day's significance. Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Wing Commander Tirath Singh (Retd), serving as the chief guest at Paramount Public School, shared insights about the importance of the Armed Forces Flag Day with teachers and students. Notably, NCC Cadets from the school were briefed about the goals and impact of AFFDF.

The occasion also aimed to raise donations from the public for the noble cause.

The collective effort of officials, students, and citizens in acknowledging the sacrifices and supporting the welfare initiatives showcased the spirit of unity and gratitude towards the armed forces.
