DEO Ramban leads mega SVEEP Rally at Batote

RAMBAN: The Election department Ramban today organized a mega awareness rally at Batote under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) to sensitize the people about ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR).

The Rally was led by District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary.

Addressing the rally, the DEO said that the proactive engagement by the young minds underscores their commitment to civic duty and highlights their active participation in the electoral process.

Emphasizing the pivotal role played by students, particularly the girls, as ambassadors for raising awareness about the voter registration process, the DEO underscored the importance of their efforts to ensure that no eligible voter shall be left behind unregistered during the ongoing SSR.

Hundreds of students from Government Degree College, Batote, Government Higher Secondary School, Batote and Government Girls High School, Batote, besides locals participated in the rally. The rally started from Bhaderwah Morh, passing through Batote market and culminated at Sabzi Mandi, Batote.

Witnessing an impressive turnout of students, locals and aspiring voters, the rally inspired the youth to register themselves as voters to become responsible citizens of the country to contribute in building a great nation.

During the rally, the participating students holding placards, recited slogans demonstrated commendable awareness about the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll. They appealed to eligible and prospective voters to register themselves as a voter during the ongoing Special Summary Revision before the last date i. e. December 9th, 2023.

Showing confidence on democratic process, Ms Abroo Ishfaq student of Government Girls High School, Batote , in his vibrant speech asked the women folk to come forward to take your rights in all the fields. Interacting with the Deputy Commissioner, she said only self confidence will help the youth in their success.

Meanwhile, the students also presented Nukad Natak and promotional speeches about the electoral process which was highly applauded by the audiences.

Similarly, a programme under SVEEP was also organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Tethar, Zone Banihal. The AERO Banihal Imtiaz Ahmad, Dedicated AERO Siddarth Dubey and Principal, A R Giri sensitized the students about the ongoing SSR and electoral process. The BLOs distributed and collected filled in forms from eligible voters.
