JAMMU: As part of the nationwide Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, free health camps were held today in Jammu, bringing essential medical services closer to the public.

Organised under the guidance of Dr. Monika Kotwal, Block Medical Officer, R.S Pura, the camps took place at Government Boys Middle School Chohala and Panchayat Kotli Gana Bana.

Doctors offered free checkups for various health concerns, including common illnesses like diabetes, blood pressure and anemia. They also provided important information and advice on these conditions, helping people understand their health better.

Beyond just medical needs, the camps also offered counselling sessions on vital topics like tuberculosis and healthy living. This created a welcoming environment where people could openly discuss their health concerns and receive expert guidance.

The program also focused on raising awareness about government schemes like Janani Suraksha Yojana and Ayushman Bharat, which provide valuable healthcare benefits to citizens. Additionally, free medicines were distributed, demonstrating the government's commitment to improving public health and well-being.

Similar health camps were also held in Janipur under the supervision of a team from UPHC Janipur. Here too, free screenings and counselling were offered, along with immediate assistance through free medicines and quick issuance of ABHA cards, simplifying access to government healthcare benefits.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is more than just a health initiative.

It's a comprehensive program that aims to empower the masses through education and awareness.
