DC Ramban chairs Mega Block Diwas Camp at Batote

Assures quality, timeline redressal of public grievances

RAMBAN: To facilitate the people at their door steps and resolve their genuine issues, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary held a mega Block Diwas public outreach program here at Batote.

DDC Chairperson, Dr. Shamshad Shan, besides DDC, Members and other PRIs and district officers were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the huge gathering, the Deputy Commissioner outlined the significance of Block Diwas, saying that the main motive behind launching this Government- people interface programme is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of benefits of welfare and developmental schemes launched by the Government.

Emphasizing upon the people to ensure their proactive engagement with the district administration in taking the development profile of the district to top place, the Deputy Commissioner said that the objective of the such Diwas was to implement the directions of Lieutenant Governor's for implementing all developmental projects and schemes to ensure infrastructural and social development of hilly district like Ramban.

He said such programmes would provide a single window platform for the people to redress their grievances and also to get feedback from them about the functioning of district administration.

Appreciating the people for their vigilant attitude, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration would ensure desired development of Batote with the active participation of locals. He said that Ramban district has ample potential for development in all aspects. He said that the economy of Ramban District is mostly based on agricultural activities and the implementation of HADP in the district would go a long way in ameliorating the socio-economic profile of the locals and increasing business activities.

Terming Education and Health sectors as priority sectors of the district Administration, the Deputy Commissioner said that the people would pay attention to the education of their wards.

The DC instructed the District officers of various departments present on the occasion to ensure immediate resolution of the issues and demands raised by the people and initiate action in a time bound and result oriented manner.

PRIs led by Dr. Shamshad Shan highlighted various issues of public interests including Sub Division status for Batote, Bus Stand for Batote, provision of wood for construction of house and firewood to locals, special horticulture plan for Batote, job opportunities for locals in PDA, Development of view-points on Batote-Patnitop road for recreation of tourists, conduct of tourism activities at Baghliar dam, and use of CSR for constructive purpose.

They also projected demands including rejuvenation of business opportunities in Batote market, repair of Bagu Nallah- Batote road, replacement of wooden torn-out poles, augmentation of existing transformers, installation of sloar lights in Batote town, development of playground, strengthening of school education system, implementation of demands projected during Back to village programmes, up-gradation of Government Girls High School, Batote.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner in presence of DDC Chairperson and other dignitaries inspected stalls established by the various departments to sensitize the people about their respective schemes. These include Agriculture, Horticulture, Banks, District Urban Development Agency, registration of PM -AYUSHMAN cards, Skill Development ITI Ramban, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, ICDS, Handloom, Handicraft, DIC, Forest, Jal Shakti and Ujjawala Yojna etc.

Expressing satisfaction over the outreach programme, the people said that it gave them an opportunity to voice their grievances and for the government to expedite the resolution through the appropriate channels.

Locals also extended their thanks for opening Chief Engineer, PWD office at Batote, allotment of 5 marla land to landless family for construction of house, slaughter house, trauma centre, development of Batote -Sanasar road, provision of Gynaecologist, Radiologist and Ophthalmologist for for CHC of the district, establishment of TRC at Batote for the convenience of tourists, establishment of CDPO office at Batote, inclusion of Ladhwal Panchyat under MG NREGA, free toll facility for locals at Nashri Toll Plaza, start of work on ropeway project and take-off point from Batote,

The people mainly raised civil issues faced in day-to-day life, problems pertaining to some roads, better provision of health facilities in village and border areas, requirement of teaching staff in some schools and tube wells not working properly in Batote area.

Responding to the various issues, the Deputy Commissioner assured that their genuine issues would be addressed on priority. He said that the District Administration will take concrete steps for development of the Batote area on the basis of valuable suggestions and feedback collected today from all the stakeholders.

At the outset, the ADC Harbans Sharma administered the pledge ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat' to participants.

The Health Department also organised a Health Camp where a team of specialist doctors from District hospital provided health services to the people.

Among others, DDC, Member, Jagvir Dass, ADDC, Rajinder Sharma, PO, ICDS, Jahangir Hashmi, CPO, Shakeeb Rather, ACD, CEO, CMO, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.

Similarly, at 9th day, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) campaign witnessed enthusiastic and vibrant participation of all stakeholders in Panchayat Sancha, Pernote-B, Pernote-A, Balawat, Maitra Govindpura-A of block Ramban and Jhatgali-A and Draman of block Rajgarh in district Ramban.
