SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) took a significant step towards expanding market access to the entrepreneurs/ sellers/ artisans of the region by collaborating with Amazon Global Selling and organised Onboarding Drive at Tagore Hall in Srinagar today.
The event witnessed active participation from over 100 entrepreneurs, including women entrepreneurs, e-commerce players, retailers, artisans, and other local businesses.
Amazon Global Selling collaborated with logistics partners such as Shiprocket and Safexpress to facilitate the onboarding of sellers, artisans, retailers, small merchants, and traders onto their platform.
This initiative opens up opportunities for participants to showcase and sell their products on a global scale, contributing to the broader goal of increasing exports from Jammu and Kashmir.
Shahid Ali, General Manager JKTPO, emphasized on the pivotal role of digital commerce in business growth during his welcome address. He provided insights into the Amazon Global Selling network and highlighted the numerous benefits of joining the platform.
The onboarding drive aligns with JKTPO's commitment to supporting local exporters by providing diverse marketing platforms and forward linkages.
The onboarding drive was spearheaded by Kunal Vaid, Regional Sales Lead for Global Trade, with support from Kaitan Bagga, Head of Export Partnership, and Kriti Gohal, Business Development Manager. Logistics partners Shiprocket and Safexpress conducted informative presentations, detailing their secure and affordable shipping services for global transportation of goods.
The highlight of the event was the one-on-one onboarding sessions, where seller partners were directly onboarded onto the Amazon Global Selling platform. This hands-on approach allowed participants to swiftly integrate into the global marketplace.
By providing a platform for small businesses to reach a global audience, this initiative aims to boost economic growth and create sustainable opportunities for the vibrant entrepreneurial community in Jammu and Kashmir. |
