Webinar on Legal Training for Effective Compliances of POSH Act held at GDC Vijaypur

SAMBA: Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of Government Degree College Vijaypur on Monday organized a webinar on Legal training for effective compliances of POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act.

The aim of organising the lecture was to sensitize the ICC committee members including student members about prevention of sexual harassment and creating awareness about the issue.

The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Presiding officer, ICC). She introduced the resource person Dr. Anupama Mahajan (Professor in the Marketing, Department of Commerce, Presiding Officer ICC, Bharati College, New Delhi and External Member, ICC GDC Vijaypur and gave details of the subject of the webinar consisting of two sessions.

The resource person, Dr. Anupama Mahajan, in her first session, enlightened the student members of ICC about the importance of creating sensitization about gender equality and equity. She presented a detailed talk on the dynamics of women prevention of sexual harassment at work place and its value for human existence.

In the second session that is only for staff members of ICC where she stressed upon various laws regarding sexual harassment and demonstrated various solutions to deal with such cases supported by various examples. She further demonstrated key responsibilities of ICC.

The webinar was organised under able guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. She congratulated the resource person for enlightening the committee members on such a sensitive and prevalent issue. She also appreciated the efforts of the organising team.

The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Presiding Officer ICC and Co-coordinated by Poonam Kundan (Member Secretary ICC).

The formal vote of thanks was presented by Poonam Kundan.
