JAMMU: On the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devansh Yadav, and in a determined step towards promoting public health and hygiene, the Enforcement and Sanitation Team of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), led by Deputy Commissioner (South), JMC, Lal Chand and Health Officer, JMC, Dr. Vinod Sharma today conducted a demolition drive at various plots in Sainik Colony.
The drive targeted sanitary huts lacking proper toilet facilities, which posed a serious threat to public health and environmental cleanliness. During the operation, a total of 10 insanitary huts were demolished.
The officers stated that similar drives will be carried out in other sectors of Sainik Colony in the coming days to maintain sanitation standards and discourage the development of unhygienic structures, in line with Open Defecation Free (ODF) objectives.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation reiterates its commitment to building a clean, healthy, and ODF-compliant city, and appeals to the general public to cooperate in upholding sanitation norms for the collective well-being of all.
