India’s Hillang Yajik wins a Gold medal at South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025

NEW DELHI: Hillang Yajik from Arunachal Pradesh has created history by clinching 1 gold and 1 silver medal for India at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025, held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from June 11 to 15.

With this remarkable feat, Yajik becomes the first female physique sports athlete from Arunachal Pradesh to win a Gold medal at the international level, marking a proud moment for the state and the country.

In a statement, Arunachal Bodybuilding Association (ABA) President Nabam Tuna praised Yajik's achievement, calling it "notable not only for her individual success but also for representing India on a global platform."

The championship, hosted by the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association, witnessed participation from several South Asian nations and was sanctioned by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF) and the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (ABPF).

Yajik's success is expected to inspire a new generation of athletes from the Northeast to pursue excellence in physique sports.
