Rajouri Administration conducts Mock Blackout Drill and Civil Defence Exercise under 'Operation Shield'

RAJOURI: District Administration Rajouri today successfully conducted the second Civil Defence Exercise and Mock Blackout Drill Operation Shield under the banner of #MockBlackoutDrill.

The drill was held from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM, with an emphasis on community safety, preparedness and response during emergencies.

The general public was urged to strictly follow all safety protocols issued for the drill, aimed at fostering a culture of alertness and cooperation during crisis situations.

The mock drill was supervised by Deputy Controller Civil Defence Rajouri, Jabeen Lone, who coordinated the activities involving NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, SDRF personnel, civil society members and other stakeholders.

As part of the drill, evacuation exercises were also conducted at selected locations within Rajouri, Sunderbani, Kalakote and Nowshera towns.

Apart from this, a complete blackout was observed by the general public in the whole district.

The public was sensitized about the importance of such preparedness exercises in mitigating risks and safeguarding lives during unforeseen situations.

The District Administration appreciated the cooperation extended by the public, civil defence volunteers and all participants in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exercise.
