SRINAGAR: Train services have been restored after a brief suspension on Thursday due to an accident in the Qazigund area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, official sources confirmed.

An official said that "Train services have resumed after being suspended following an accident that occurred early this morning in Qazigund."

Notably, train operations were halted as a precautionary measure after a truck bearing registration number JK02AT-5895 rolled down a slope and came to rest on the track at KM 167/10-11, between Banihal and Qazigund (Hiller).

Clearance work was initiated promptly after the incident to ensure the safe resumption of rail services.
