Jammu’s Rajat secures Silver at 10th Sanda World Cup 2025

JAMMU: Rajat Charak, a talented Wushu athlete from Jammu, made the region proud by securing a silver medal in the 85 kg category at the 10th Sanda World Cup 2025 in Jiangyin, China.

Rajat fought valiantly in the final but was defeated by his Australian opponent. Despite the loss, his performance highlighted the exceptional skill and determination of Indian athletes at this prestigious international event.

India delivered a remarkable performance at the World Cup, securing 1 Gold and 5 Silver medals. In addition to Rajat's achievement, Chhavi earned a Silver in the 48 kg female category after a tough final against Vietnam.

In the male 48 kg category, Kushal Kumar also claimed Silver, battling hard against China in the final.

Anuj secured Silver in the 52 kg category, after a strong competition against Vietnam. Ravi Panchal fought valiantly in the 65 kg category, earning Silver in a tough match against China.

The standout performance came from Mukesh Choudhary, who claimed Gold in the 75 kg category by defeating France in the final.

This outstanding performance underscores the growing strength of Indian Wushu. Kuldeep Handoo, a Dronacharya Awardee, expressed confidence that athletes from Jammu and Kashmir, like Rajat, will continue to excel in future international tournaments and the Asian Games.
