JAMMU: Government Degree College Akhnoor, in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Employment, on Tuesday inaugurated the Mission Yuva initiative with an engaging session focused on Youth Empowerment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The program started with the pledge ceremony to commemorate the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) observed on 26th of November every year. The day marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949 by the constituent Assembly of India.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of Principal of GDC Khour, GDC Jourian along with 200 students, demonstrating keen interest in the program's objectives. Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, Principal of GDC Akhnoor, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the critical role of youth engagement in nation-building. She also urged the students to take up entrepreneurial ventures for the economics development of J&K UT
The inaugural address was delivered by Pawan Parihar, Special Secretary, Department of Labour and Employment, who underscored the importance of Mission Yuva in equipping young minds with skills and opportunities for self-employment.
He asked youth to adopt a proactive approach to comprehending knowledge based learning. He urged them to engage themselves in innovation and those areas where they can become skillful and develop entrepreneurial skills to set up their own startups, ventures etc.
Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, Principal GDC Jourian reiterated that youth must be involved in the nation's development through skill and entrepreneurship.
Dr. T.K. Sharma Principal GDC Khour said that potential entrepreneurship of YUVA can be converted in to action entrepreneurship by giving them training and guidance
Dr. Vishal Sharma, the resource person and Nodal Officer, Higher Education Department UT of J&K, provided an overview of the program's goals and implementation phases, while Sulakshana Thakur, Assistant Director Labour and Employment delivered a detailed talk on entrepreneurship development, focusing on business plan creation and project management to guide budding entrepreneurs.
The program was coordinated by Dr Vishally Sharma (Nodal Officer) Prof Shreya Sharma Dr. Amit Sharma and Prof Pervash Kumar. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Amit Kumar, while the proceedings of the event were carried out by Prof Shreya Sharma.
The faculty present were, Dr. Savita Jamwal, Dr Deepika Gupta, Dr Monika Mahajan, Dr. Neeru Dhalla, Dr. Seema Dr. Tasleem, Prof. Shivani and Dr. Suresh Sharma. |
